I was that kid who was always perfectly content as long as I was kept in pencils, paper and crayons - I’ve been making artwork for the sheer love of it as long as I can remember. I’m also a passionate music lover and avid record collector. After two academic degrees, I spent almost 10 years working in a record store before I decided I wanted to find a way to make my other passion my work.
I graduated from the College of the North Atlantic's Graphic Design program in June 2017 and since then I've been working as a freelance artist, illustrator and designer. I've done work with with a variety of clients in that time, including the local alternative paper the Overcast, theatre company Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, Food First NL, the St. John's Arts and Culture Centre, Chudworth Technology Solutions, Johnson Insurance, and the Newfoundland Chocolate Company. I've also collaborated with a number of Design and Marketing firms, both locally and throughout the country, worked with local shops, small businesses, market vendors and self-employed individuals. Oh, and I'm also always taking artwork commissions for private clients!
I've created a line of merchandise, under the brand metalheadslovehugs, that I describe as "stuff for metalheads, music lovers, records lovers & people with bad attitudes. Made by a metalhead, record-collecting artist/designer with a bad attitude." So far it features stickers, pins, embroidered patches and screen-printed t-shirts featuring my designs, but there's always more in the works.
Mostly, I just love making and creating, and I love seeing the things I've made out in the world.
